Outlying South Cary/Apex Neighborhood

Outlying Cary/Apex begins off Raleigh, North Carolina’s southwest side and extends down toward Duncan. Highway 1 runs along the northern section of the region. The area is convenient to Downtown Raleigh and Downtown Cary.

The Jordan Lake Recreation Area is a 13,900-acre lake with a surrounding park. Visitors can boat, fish, and swim. The park features campgrounds, picnic areas, and miles of hiking trails plus nine recreation areas, each offering unique outdoor experiences.

Tryon Plaza and Wellington Park shopping centers feature shops and favorite local dining spots such as the Bavarian Brathaus and the Bermuda Room Pub. Crossroads Plaza, a larger shopping plaza with popular chain stores, is just a mile east of Wellington. Cary's largest shopping mall, Cary Towne Center, is only a two-mile drive to the northeast of Wellington. The mall features more than 150 stores and restaurants from which to choose, as well as a movie theater, Galaxy Cinema.
