Loring Park Neighborhood

The Loring Park neighborhood is located near downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. It takes its name from the park centrally located in the area. This neighborhood has many activities and amenities to offer its residents.

Loring Park was at one time known as Central Park, until the city officially changed its name. It was named after the first superintendent of Minneapolis parks, Charles Loring. This community has mainly apartment living, with old brick walk-up apartments. Most of the apartments here were built in the late 1900s, making Loring Park a charming place to live.

Loring Park has a ton of entertaining activities for just about anyone. Restaurants include the Oceanaire, Hell’s Kitchen, Loring Grill, Cafe Lurcat, and the ultra popular Italian bistro Buca Di Beppo. Some of the best theater in Minneapolis is found here in Loring Park. The most popular of these theaters are the Loring Playhouse, the Red Eye Theater, and the Music Box Theater.

Some of the outdoor venues and hot spots here are Loring Park, Peavey Plaza, the Loring Greenway, and the Norwegian landmark Ole Bull. There are many magnificent and noteworthy buildings here in the Loring Park neighborhood, like the Basilica of Saint Mary, the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, and the Woman’s Club.

Loring Park has a diverse group of residents, most of whom prefer the culture that the community has to offer. You will find culture here at the Walker Art Center, Sculpture Garden, and Orchestra Hall. This community has several art festivals throughout the spring and summer, including the Starving Artist Sale.
