The Southpoint area of Jacksonville, Florida is southeast and across the river from downtown Jacksonville. It is an area of businesses, hotels, apartments, and condos. It is bordered to the northeast and southwest by residential areas. Just to the southeast of the area is where most of the apartment complexes are concentrated. Interstate 95 and the J. Turner Butler Boulevard bisect the area.
Southpoint Square is one of the reasons businesses like this area. Executive office suites are available with full-service support, including receptionists and full secretarial services.
Some of the finest and most prestigious hotels in Jacksonville are represented in Southpoint. They include the Jacksonville Marriot, the Radisson Hotel Jacksonville, Best Western Hotel JTB/Southpoint and the Embassy Suites.
There are 10 apartment complexes in the area. Many of these complexes are dog and cat friendly and offer a host of amenities.
It is the conflux of the two freeways that explains this concentration of hotels and apartment complexes. Southpoint is centrally located. Apartment residents and Hotel visitors can take Interstate 95 north to all of the attractions and activities that downtown Jacksonville and the river have to offer. Taking the J. Turner Butler Boulevard east will lead you right to the beaches and the ocean.
Your nearby shopping choices include the Belk Avenues Mall and a Wal-Mart Supercenter.
As for restaurants, they are numerous and varied. Dine at Dave and Buster’s, Buca di Beppo, or the Lemongrass Thai Restaurant, among others.
