Allendale Area Neighborhood

Arvada, Colorado’s Allendale Area extends from Highway 72 east to Kipling Street. It includes Arvada West High School, Allendale Elementary School, Stenger Soccer Complex, and Bridgeside Park. Shopping areas in the neighborhood include Ralston Square and Arvada Plaza. Allendale contains some smaller niche neighborhoods, such as Orchard Square and Grace Place.

Orchard Square is in the northern section of Allendale. This is a wonderful area with plenty of recreation. Virtually every direction from the neighborhood presents a new and exciting recreation option, be it a park, golf course, or lake. One of these many parks is Allendale Park off of 62nd Avenue. This nice little park has lots of open space for flying kites, throwing Frisbees, or simply having a picnic. It is also one of the best places to take young children as it has a large playground. The quiet roads surrounding the park also make it a great place for couples to walk their dogs or for runners looking for pavement.

For those looking for a little more strenuous activity, the Arvada Tennis Center off of Miller Street is a great place to test out your game. The tennis center has 8 courts that are well maintained and provide an excellent surface for tennis players. These courts get regular use by trainers as well as for general play.

Grace Place is bounded by Miller Street to the west, West 59th Place to the north, just past Kipling Road to the east and West 59th Street to the south. Grace Place is located close to public transportation and shopping.

Grace Place offers a variety of multiple-family homes and apartments to rent. This is a terrific area near Arvada Square Shopping Center and Ralston-Central Park. Ralston Cove Park features a playground, picnic areas, and a walking track. Marge Roberts Park has picnic areas and multipurpose fields. Jefferson County has several areas west of Grace Place in the Rockies known as "open spaces" that have wildlife and natural trails for hiking and biking.
