The West Seattle neighborhood of South Delridge is located south of the West Seattle Bridge. The area ends near the city of White Center to the south. The eastern border is the Duwamish River, named for the Native American tribe that inhabited this region, and the western boundary is 35th Avenue SW. This residential neighborhood is popular with commuters because of its easy access to downtown and Boeing Field. Travel along Highway 99 also connects travelers to SeaTac airport. Residents read the West Seattle Herald for up-to-date information about goings-on in their neighborhood. Golfers enjoy the West Seattle Golf Course located in the Snake Hill area. A variety of neighborhoods comprise the Delridge area, including Roxhill, Pigeon Point, High Point, Cottage Grove, Snake Hill, Riverview, Highland Park, and Youngstown. High Point features a hill over 520 feet above sea level, the highest point within the Seattle city limits. Youngstown is home to the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center.
Parks in the area include Westcrest Park in the Highland Park area and Roxhill Park in Roxhill. Longfellow Creek travels through many of the neighborhoods in Delridge, and begins its headwaters in the Westwood neighborhood, with extensive trails through the wetlands of Roxhill Park. Westcrest Park features an off-leash dog park.
Students in the area attend Cooper Elementary, Roxhill Elementary, and Highland Park Elementary. Older students attend Denny Middle School and West Seattle High. The nearby Seattle South Central Community College is also home to an inviting arboretum.
