Whispering Oaks Apartments for Rent

Whispering Oaks is a neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas. The borders of the neighborhood are Lockhill Selma Road on the northeast, northwest is Wurzbach Road, southwest is the rail line and Dreamland Drive to the southeast. All the streets within the neighborhood contain the word “whispering.”

Some of the streets in the neighborhood are cul-de-sacs, they have some sidewalks, and the homes are a mix of styles and finishes. Some are a yellow brick, some are red brick, others are wood frame and still others are a mix. There are one story, two story and split levels. On Whispering Wind there are several homes that are Tudor in style. The yards are not large but almost every front yard has a tree or two. Most houses have a garage or two as well. This is a very attractive neighborhood.

On the corner of Lockhill Selma Road and Wurzbach Road there is a Chevron Gasoline Station and a convenience store.

The Montessori Schoolhouse on Dreamland Drive is a preschool that uses the Montessori method to teach mathematics, manners and other subjects in a motivated and respectful way. This adorable little cottage is a wonderful place for the young children in the area to attend.

Bus service is available on the major thoroughfares in the Whispering Oaks neighborhood. The farthest east portion of Wurzbach Road within the neighborhood is the most commercial in Whispering Oaks. There are a variety of restaurants in this area, all of them are local.

Whispering Oaks Swim Club is a private, member-owned club in the Whispering Oaks neighborhood. It has a total of six tennis courts, a swimming pool, a toddlers wading pool and picnic area. Residents and nonresidents are allowed to join.
