Park Place is a triangular shaped, densely populated neighborhood due west of downtown San Antonio. It doesn’t feel crowded because it is surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills between it and Potranco Road to the north. The main entry is Clover Creek Road, which connects to Portranco Road. The rest of the neighborhood streets are barely a block long with some ending in cul-de-sacs. Homes on the north end of Clover Creek Road and Medio Creek Road back on to the open hillside.

Most of the development was done between 1970 and 1995. Plenty of trees on city streets and between homes provide atmosphere and privacy. Park Place is pleasantly pedestrian-friendly and has access to public transit from the VIA Metropolitan Transit buses. The most frequent stops are along Potranco Road. Interstate 410 is about two miles east.

Nearby schools include Cody Elementary, Francis Scobee Middle School, and Brennan High. Hope Community Church and Northwest Hills Christian Church are on Potranco Road, roughly a mile north. This is also where the closest Wal-Mart and Kohl’s stores are located, as well as the Potranco Food Market. The shops and restaurants of Westlakes Shopping Center are two miles east.

Park Place is also three miles south of Sea World San Antonio. This family-friendly attraction not only teaches about marine life through its shows and exhibits, it is also home to the Lost Lagoon Waterpark. For the younger children, the Bay of Play features fun ways to get wet and has greetings from some of Sesame Street’s most lovable characters.
