Leander, Texas was first settled in 1845. Eventually, the small town of Bagdad formed. In 1882, Bagdad became Leander, named for Leander Brown, one of the men who completed a railroad line through town.
Today, Leander’s location, just 25 miles north of Austin, makes it a popular destination for apartment renting. A fast-growing city near several lakes, Leander is rich with business opportunities, excellent schools, and a variety of outdoor activities.
Devine Lake Regional Park’s 34 acres are popular for fishing, boating, and picnicking. One of Leander’s other four parks, Robin Bledsoe Park, features a water playscape, a swimming pool, an amphitheater, and ball fields.
Crystal Falls Golf Course is a municipal course with 18 holes, a pro shop, restaurant, and driving range.
Leander is family-friendly and has the largest school district in Williamson County. It is also the fastest growing district in Texas.
Leander’s apartment rentals will place you in the rolling hills of Central Texas, just minutes from busy downtown Austin.
