A city with a lot of history, Lancaster, Texas began as a frontier outpost and has a town square that is 155 years old. Stain Farm was founded in 1896 and is believed to be the oldest working farm in Dallas County. The city is 20 minutes south of downtown Dallas.

The second Saturday of each month the town folks attend the arts and crafts fair on the town square. It’s a great place to see live entertainment, eat a corn dog, and take home that knickknack you can’t live without.

The annual Lancaster Country Ride, held in April, features over 1,000 bicyclists who ride along a portion of the Texas Bluebonnet Trail. It is a family-friendly event and a great way to see the Texas countryside.

Lancaster offers a small-town atmosphere with over 793 acres of park land containing hiking and biking trails, picnic facilities, Little League baseball parks, and Kids Square Park. Nature lovers can take advantage of the Bear Creek Nature Park with its forest of walking trails.

The University of North Texas at Dallas is a short walk away and many students rent apartments in Lancaster. With a thriving economic market and easy access to highways, Lancaster is a small city with modern amenities.
