The neighborhood of Eastside is located in the southeast section of the city of Houston. To its southwest is the neighborhood of Meadowbrook/Allendale, and it is border to its north, east, and south by cities Pasadena, Galena Park, and South Houston. Eastside has some condos and apartments, but is mostly single-family homes.

There are numerous public schools for the residents of Eastside. On the elementary school level, Rucker, Park Place, Williams, Patterson, and Richey all serve portions of the area. Queens Intermediate and W.I. Stevenson handle the middle school children, while Pasadena and Cesar Chavez are there for high school age kids. Post-secondary education can be garnered at Houston Community College.

Plenty of outdoor activities are available to residents. Green lands can be enjoyed at Mason Park, Mac Gregor Park or Community Park. Residents who golf have abundant options that include Glenbrook Park Golf Course, Gus Wortham Golf Course, and Battleground at Deer Park Golf Course.

Indoor activities include a bevy of museums around Eastside. 1940 Air Terminal Museum, Heritage Park & Museum, Blaffer Art Museum, and the Orange Show are all worth seeing within five miles of the neighborhood. The Orange Show has a world renowned collection of Folk Art. There are also two public libraries within short distance of Eastside, including both Park Place and Galena Park Libraries.

There are five shopping centers/malls that dot Eastside and the surrounding area. Gulfgate Center and Broadway Center are the first two near the neighborhood. Two miles further out brings you to either Pasadena Town Square or Allendale Shopping Center for residents shopping needs.

If medical help is needed, Texas Specialty Hospital and the Bayshore Medical Center are both located within five miles of Eastside. Kindred Hospital – Bay Area is also six miles away.
