Williams Park Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Located southeast of downtown El Paso, Williams Park is a quiet residential area east of Interstate 10. Housing is a combination of single-family homes, a few mobile homes, condos, and apartments. The earliest homes were built before 1939 and tended to be larger single-family structures. As the years passed, particularly with newer developments throughout the 1990s and later, more apartments came into the mix.
Williams Park is pedestrian friendly and has two parks within its boundaries. Lafayette Park off of Yermoland Drive in the northwest offers two baseball diamonds. Lomaland Park, on the southeast corner off Lomaland Drive has shaded picnic areas, walking pathways and tennis courts. The center of Williams Park is largely undeveloped open space.
Schools in the area include Hillcrest Middle School on Yermoland Drive, Loma Terrace Elementary on Ryland Court, and Our Loving Mother’s Daycare and Learning Center on Williamette Avenue. Nearby churches include Cristo Rey Catholic Church on Williamette Avenue in the north and Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana on Floyd Way which offers some services in Spanish.
On the southwest corner of Williams Park is a small strip mall with a Walgreens Store, a Flexi Compras Store, a Chevron Station, and two pizza outfits. Heading north on North Loop Drive leads to El Paso Community College about two miles away. Another two miles north leads to Ascarte Park and the associated Ascarte Golf Course. This park offers canoes and paddle boats for rent to use on its 48-acre Ascarte Lake. Fishing is also allowed and trout, catfish, and bass are just some of the types caught. Barbecue and picnic areas as well as playground are also available.
