This mostly single-family home area is located just south of the El Paso International Airport and is surrounded by other neighborhoods like Cielo Vista East to its west, Pebble Hills Park to its east, and Williams Park to its south. There are plenty of things to do, both inside and out, in and around the Travis White area. There is Travis White Park, located in the center of the neighborhood, that has plenty of open area and a path that runs throughout the Park. Plenty of quality golfing can also be found within short distances of Travis White. To the north is Lone Star Golf Club and a bit to the West, you will find Ascarate Municipal Golf Course as well. Franklin Mountain State Park and the Wyler Aerial Tramway are also must-dos within a short distance of the neighborhood.

Plenty of quality public schools are available, including Eastwood Heights, East Point, Eastwood Knolls, and Vista Hills elementary schools. For middle schools, Eastwood Middle and Ranchland Hills are options, while high schools in the area include Eastwood, Cesar Chavez Academy, J M Hanks, and El Paso Academy East. Howard Payne University and El Paso Community College are near for higher learning.

The closest mall to the area is the Cielo Vista Mall, which has numerous big names, such as Sears and Dillards. There are a number of great museums to visit, including the Cleveland Roller Mill Museum and the US Army Museum at Biggs Army Airfield. There is also the Rose and Crown Art Gallery.
