Ranchland West is a rather large, irregular shaped El Paso neighborhood that has a small portion on the north side that borders Interstate 10. The east side runs along Viscount Boulevard that later turns in to Hunter Drive. A small portion on the south side borders with the El Paso Community College, making it convenient for residents to take classes at their convenience.

The Ranchland West neighborhood is made up primarily of younger and middle age residents. The single family homes are varied in style. To the southwest of the Ranchland West neighborhood is the large Ascarate Park and its 48 acre lake. The Western Playland Amusement Park occupies 16 acres of the park, while all of the rest is dedicated to different sports activities, picnicking and other types of recreational activities. It is a great place for Ranchland West residents to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy themselves.
