Las Sierras is a large community on the north side of El Paso, Texas, less than 20 minutes from the central downtown area. It is situated between Biggs Army Field and the Castner Range-Fort Bliss Military Reservation, and is just minutes from Franklin Mountains State Park. This community is bordered by Hercules Avenue on the south, Dyer Street/Highway 54 on the west, Guadalupe Drive on the north, and Diana Drive on the east. Located within the 79904 zip code, area communities include Angel’s Triangle, Restlawn, Mountain View North, and Sunrise Acres East.
The Las Sierras neighborhood is mostly residential and predominately consistsof a single-family homes. The Magoffin Middle School is situated just outside of neighborhood bounds to the southeast, adjacent to Mountain View Park. Many shopping, dining, and entertainment options also exist nearby, especially along the highway. Highway 54 also provides a nearly-direct route into the central downtown area, which offers more to see and do. Northpark Shopping Center is a popular retail destination about one mile to the north; along with shopping, it offers a supermarket, pharmacy, and several dining options.
For outdoor recreation, nearby Mountain View Park offers open space and playground equipment. Other parks in the area include Sunrise Park and Nations Tobin Park. The latter is the largest community park in the area, and it offers several playing fields, a basketball court, a playground, and an outdoor swimming pool.
