Hacienda Heights Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Hacienda Heights lies in ZIP code 79915. It is in the southern part of El Paso and no more than a few blocks from the Texas/Mexico border. It is also just east of El Paso Community College. The boundaries of the neighborhood are the North Loop Drive—or Farm to Market Road 76—to the west, North Carolina Drive to the south, Phoenix Avenue to the north, and Giles Road to the east.
The neighborhood is made up of small single-family homes in which many homes are packed into a seemingly small area, creating little lot space to differentiate the property lines. Some of the homes have a small amount of grass, but by and large, there isn’t a lot of grass or green space.
Lionel E. Forti Park lies just to the north of the neighborhood. It has a large pool that is equipped for lap swimming, and it also has several athletic courts.
The Magoffin Home State Historical Site is a home that was built in 1875 for Joseph Magoffin, a pioneer, politician, and civic leader. The structure is a 19-room Adobe house that contains the original family furnishings. The state of Texas purchased it and opened it to the public in 1977.
The El Paso Zoo is a wonderful place for the entire family. It sits on 35 acres and is home to over 200 different species of animals, all of which reside in natural habitat exhibits. One of the newest additions to the zoo is the El Paso Water Utilities Discovery Education Center which opened in 2009.
The summer of 2010 marked the opening of a desert spring exhibit featuring small animals that live in the water and a desert panorama background that shows how desert dwelling animals come to the desert spring to drink water.
