Wolf Creek neighborhood is located twenty minutes south of downtown Dallas. Many of the neighborhood’s single-family homes were built in the 50s and 60s, but some have been built much more recently.
The area is served by Loop 12, Interstate Highway 35, Marvin D. Love Freeway, and Interstate 20.
Wolf Creek belongs to the Dallas Independent Scholl District, which offers schools like South Oak Cliff High School and T.G. Terry Elementary. Some private schools are in the area as well, including Bishop Dunne Catholic School, a college prep school. The University of North Texas offers upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in many different fields. The University’s Dallas campus is located at 7300 Houston School Road.
The public Dallas Executive Airport serves both as a reliever airport for Dallas Love Field. It is located a few minutes away from Wolf Creek.
Wolf Creek is surrounded by city parks. Boulder Park, Beckley Heights Park, Laurel Land Memorial Park, Glendale Park, and Kiest Park offer a relief from the hustle and bustle of the city, affording residents the opportunity to go cycling, jogging, or power walking. Oak Cliff Country Club (2200 Red Bird Lane) is a members-only country club and golf course.
Southwest Center Mall is the only major shopping mall in southern Dallas. Only 15 minutes away from the neighborhood sits the Dallas Farmers’ Market (1010 Pearl Expressway), where fresh produce is sold.
Public transportation also serves Wolf Creek. Ledbetter Station, located at the Intersection of Lancaster Road and Ledbetter Drive, is the southern terminus of the Dallas Area Rapid Transport’s Blue Line light rail system. Ledbetter Station is also located near the Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center on Lancaster Road.
