Southwood is a neighborhood in southern College Station, Texas, within Brazos County. This community is situated less than four miles from the heart of the downtown area. It is south of Southwest Parkway, north of Harvey Mitchell Parkway South, and east of Welsh Avenue. Southwood is in the 77840 zip code area. Some of the neighborhood communities include Camelot, South Knoll, West Knoll, and Bee Creek.

The aptly named city of College Station is the home of Texas A&M University, which is within walking distance north of the Southwood neighborhood. Texas A&M has bragging rights as the oldest public university in the state and is nationally recognized as a top research institution. Immediately adjacent to the university on the west is Easterwood Airfield. Just a few miles southeast of Southwood is another popular area amenity – Southwood Park. This community park spans nearly 45 acres and is the first park in the city devoted almost entirely to athletics. Some of the athletic facilities found here include lighted tennis and basketball courts and adult and little league baseball and soccer fields. Some traditional park amenities, like a playground, picnic area, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits, are also offered here. Area residents also come to Southwood Park to cool off at the 75-foot Cindy Hallaran Pool.

Adjacent to Southwood Park on the east are the College Station Medical Center and two retail centers, which further serve the needs of Southwood residents.
