There are no city parks in the Camelot neighborhood, but there are two that area quite close. Gabbard Park is a 10-acre city park located near the Camelot neighborhood. It has walking trails, an updated playground, softball field and picnic areas. Dogs are allowed in the park but must be kept leashed. There is also a pond in the park and a fishing pier.

Bee Creek Park is located next to the city cemetery and was created from land donated by the cemetery. It is a 26-acre park that has the city’s first community swimming pool. In addition there are tennis courts, volleyball courts, and softball fields. There are picnic areas and two playgrounds. Leashed dogs are also allowed in this park.

Texas A&M University is located within a short drive of the Camelot neighborhood. The university has its own golf course, which is public and very affordable. It is an 18-hole, par 71 course and offers a variety of tees for every skill level.

When it is time for the residents of the Camelot neighborhood to go grocery shopping, there is a Kroger Family Center on Texas Avenue South. There are some other local stores in the same plaza as the Kroger store, including a bookstore and a Chinese buffet.
