The Allen Forest neighborhood is located in the city of Bryan, Brazos County, in Southeast Central Texas. This area is known as “Aggieland” because the main campus of the Texas A&M University is in nearby College Station, a few minutes down the road.
This single-family home neighborhood has wonderful mature trees that cast their shade on the wide sidewalks, making them ideal for taking a quiet stroll, walking the dog, riding a bike, or just being outdoors.
Allen Forest is part of the Bryan Independent School District. There are also private schools, like the Allen Academy, founded in 1886. Higher education is provided by Blinn College, one of whose four campuses is in Bryan. Texas A&M University, the seventh largest university in the US, is the home of the eponymous football team, better known as Texas Aggies. It also houses the George Bush presidential Library.
Public transportation in Allen Forest is provided by the buses operated by the Brazos Transit District as well as the Texas A&M University’s Department of Transportation Services buses or ride sharing services. Coulter Field, a general aviation airfield owned by the city of Bryan, is located a few minutes from Allen Forest up the Highway 190.
Allen Forest is connected by major roads like U.S. Highway 190, State Highway 6 Earl Rudder Freeway (East Loop) and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
Texas A&M University, Bryan Independent School District, Sanderson Farms, and St. Joseph Regional Health Center are among the biggest employers in the area.
