Zilker is a residential area in southwest Austin. The neighborhood has large lots adjacent to Zilker Park, one of the largest and most popular parks in Austin. In the southeastern corner of the neighborhood is the Mary Lee Foundation, a school dedicated to teaching children and adults with special needs.

Located in the trendiest part of Austin, in the 78704 ZIP code, the Zilker community shares its eastern boundary, South Lamar Boulevard, with the Bouldin area. This street contains most of the commercial development within the Zilker area. The Austin Mo-Pac Expressway/Loop 1 acts as the neighborhood’s western border, while Barton Springs Road forms the boundary to the north.

The Greenbelt acts as a southern border and is one of Austin’s best-known parks. Along with hiking and biking trails, the Greenbelt has a natural swimming area and plenty of shade trees and picnic areas so that visitors can escape the Texas heat.
