The Tally Green neighborhood is an area of small, pretty homes on large lots. Dogwood and redbud trees line the quiet neighborhood roads that meander through rolling terrain. Tally Green is east of McGavock Pike and touches Briley Parkway in the southeast corner.

Also along the southeast is one of Nashville’s top attractions: The Grand Ole Opry. Indeed, music lovers come from across the nation to see their favorite performers on this famous stage. Neighborhood shopping no doubt can be done at the local mall, Opry Mills. It’s a great place for entertainment, too, with 20 cinema screens, an IMAX and plenty of restaurants. A destination store here may well be the Bass Pro Shop.

Another great attraction is here as well, The General Jackson Showboat. Locals and visitors enjoy climbing aboard for a cruise on this four-story paddle wheeler as it makes its way along the Cumberland. With restaurants and shows, and special events at certain times of the year, it offers day and nighttime cruises. Many people find the Nashville skyline especially dramatic at night.

Just across the river, accessed by a footbridge just south of Tally Green, is Shelby Bottoms Park, Nature Center and Greenway. The 810-acre park includes three miles of Cumberland riverfront and 12 miles of trails through a variety of habitats, including woodlands and wetlands.

When larger lakes beckon for fishing and boating, Tally Green residents have two good choices within a few miles. Old Hickory Lake is massive and offers facilities usually associated with a resort area. Equally close is J. Percy Priest Reservoir, with almost a dozen state parks, marinas and public use areas.

Great cultural facilities are a short drive southeast, including Ryman Auditorium, Schermerhorn Symphony Center and Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
