This community is situated immediately north of Interstate 40, which provides a nearly directly route into the downtown area of Nashville. This journey is just over a 20-minute drive. Entirely residential, the Pine Forest neighborhood is accessible via Pine Forest Drive on the south and Indian Springs Drive on the west. A few smaller courts extend from these main streets to create peaceful neighborhood cul-de-sacs, including Summerwood Lane, WF Rust Court, Autumn Leaves Lane, and Aspenwood Lane. Several dozen spacious, single-family homes can be found here, and these are situated on decent-sized, partially wooded lots. Much of the surrounding area is undeveloped wooded land, which provides a sense of seclusion and creates the feel of country living.

Despite the remote feeling of the neighborhood, this community is just minutes from many major area attractions. The Bellevue Center Mall, the largest retail complex in the area, is situated just on the other side of the interstate, and it offers plenty of specialty shops and dining options, along with several major department stores. A movie theater is also located minutes from home, and another large retail area is a few miles to the south. This second shopping area offers many shops and eateries, as well as two large supermarkets.

Pine Forest is also convenient to many outdoor attractions. Harpeth River Park and Bellevue Park are situated only about one mile to the west, while Edwin Warner Park and Percy Warner Park are located adjacent to one another a few miles to the southeast.
