Overton Lea Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Overton Lea neighborhood of Nashville is an exclusive neighborhood of gated estates. Perfectly landscaped yards surround stately brick homes that were built in the ’50s and ’60s. The area is south of Tyne Boulevard, west of Granny White Pike, north of Old Hickory Boulevard and west of Franklin Pike and I-65, which runs adjacent to the community.
The Radnor Lake Wildlife Refuge, located south of the community, is a favorite natural area of Nashville residents. Tennessee wildlife, such as deer, coyote, bobcats, muskrats, beavers, minks and river otters, are often seen. The area, though, can only be visited during the day and is primarily used for hiking. Activities such as camping, picnicking and hunting are not permitted in the beautiful, pristine, 1,000-plus-acre site.
Being close to I-65, residents in Overton Lea can easily visit a number of area malls. For instance, the 100 Oaks Mall, located at 719 Thompson Lane, is north of the neighborhood off of I-65. The smaller outlet shopping center is home to such retailers as Electronic Express, Baby Depot and Burlington Coat Factory. Residents also like to visit the Cool Springs Galleria, located at 1800 Galleria Boulevard off of I-65 in Franklin, Tenn. The large shopping center features major retailers Macy’s, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Sears and the Belk Home Store. More than 160 stores and restaurants including popular, upscale retail establishments — such as Talbots, Banana Republic, and Fossil — can be found at the large shopping center.
Overton Lea, one might say, is a bit of Beverly Hills in the heart of Nashville. With its dignified charm and impressive real estate, the neighborhood is indeed an idyllic and select place to reside in the greater Nashville area.
