The Holt Woods neighborhood is located on the far south side of Nashville, Tennessee, about 15 miles from the downtown area. This community is situated north of Holt Road, along Holt Hills Road, Bryce Road, Cobble Street, and several other small courts and drives. The zip code for Holt Woods is 37211, and it is part of Davidson County. Area communities include Mountainview to the southwest, Stone Creek Park to the south, and Highland Creek and Brookview Forest to the east.

This community is primarily residential, consisting mostly of well-maintained single-family homes on shaded lots. Like much of Nashville, the neighborhood is surrounded by wooded areas, but there are several commercial offerings in the area as well, especially along nearby State Highway 11, U.S. Highway 31, and U.S. Highway 41, which run past the neighborhood less than one mile to the east. The Hickory Plaza Shopping Center is another local shopping option, located a few miles north, where these highways intersect with State Highway 254.

Schools near Holt Woods include Oliver Middle School and Shayne Elementary School, both situated on nearby Nolensville Pike.

For outdoor recreation, residents of Holt Woods head roughly five miles west, to the other side of Interstate 65. Among the options here are Granny White Park and the Radnor Lake Natural Area and Wildlife Refuge. Residents come to the latter to take advantage of hiking trails, fish on Radnor Lake, view wildlife, or take advantage of nature programs.

Another option for outdoor recreation in this area is the Brentwood Country Club on Franklin Road. This beautiful country club offers a challenging 18-hole golf course, stately clubhouse, Olympic-sized swimming pool, and fitness facility, among other amenities.

For more to see and do, residents of Holt Woods are a little more than 20 minutes from downtown Nashville, home of the state capitol building and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
