Planned programs and events include night hikes, wildflower walks, and canoe floats. Percy Warner Park is another neighborhood favorite. With 2,000 acres of beautiful walks, this park gets high praise. It is especially pretty in the fall.

A short drive from Percy Warner Park is an iconic Nashville site: Belle Meade Plantation. It is a prized location for weddings and other special events. Belle Meade was built in 1853. A bit farther north is another top site: the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

The Nashville Zoo is a short drive north of Haywood Acres. Along with the exhibits, the zoo sponsors a variety of children’s programs. Seven Oaks Disc Golf Course offers great play in a spacious park.

Neighborhood retail centers are quite convenient. Harding Mall is anchored by a Dillard’s Department Store; Wal-Mart and Kmart are near Harding Mall.

Upscale shopping is close by at The Mall at Green Hills, complete with valet service and the first Nordstrom store in the state. Other top retailers include Anne Klein, Tiffany and Fossil, along with favorites Dillard’s and Macy’s.

Brentwood and Richland Country Clubs are the most convenient private golf clubs for Haywood residents. Public courses can be found at nearby Percy Warner Park and Harpeth Hills Golf Course.

Top universities and colleges are here as well; the best known perhaps is Vanderbilt. Others include Peabody College and Tennessee State University.
