Just down the street is the Ryman Auditorium. This 2,362-seat music venue was the home of the Grand Ole Opry for over 30 years. The historic building opened in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle. The facility was used for the Grand Ole Opry broadcasts from 1943 until 1974 when the Opry moved to a larger building.
