The boundaries of the Fairlane Park neighborhood are Nolensville Pike to the west, Melpar Drive on the north, Tusculum Road on the south and Packard Drive on the east. Nolenville Pike does have some mostly local commercial enterprises and it is also serviced by the local transit buses.

The Fairlane Park neighborhood has many brick, ranch-style homes. The yards are spacious in most of this neighborhood. There are however no sidewalks to facilitate walking.

William A Pitts Park is located right on the border with Antioch. This heavily wooded park has a baseball diamond and a large parking lot to accommodate the visitors who are either playing ball or watching the game. It is just a short drive from the Fairlane Park neighborhood.

Fairlane Shopping Center offers some shopping to the residents of the Fairlane Park neighborhood. There is a Big Lots Store for general shopping and A Kut Above hair and tanning salon. There are several other local stores and restaurant in this shopping center. On the west side of Nolenville Pike there is a Dairy Queen and an Advanced Auto store.

Just two miles west of the FairlanePark neighborhood is the Ellington Agricultural Center. It is the home of the Tennessee Agricultural Museum and the Tennessee Agricultural Hall of Fame. This museum is free to visit and the displays teach the history of the agricultural heritage of the state of Tennessee from its beginnings to the mid-twentieth century. Located in the horse barn of what was the estate of financier Roger Caldwell this museum has everything from farm equipment to log cabins. On weekends in the summer special events are planned for families.
