To the east of downtown Greenville, South Carolina is the neighborhood of Valley Creek. Valley Creek is an inverted triangular-shaped neighborhood that is completely defined by the highways that surround it. Interstate 385 forms the base to the north, State Route 291 is to the east and U.S. Route 276 is to the west.

Almost all of the buildings in Valley Creek are in the northeast corner of the triangle. At the northeastern tip are Strayer University, and many commercial buildings. Further west down the base of the triangle is the residential area. The homes are new and consist of modest to medium-sized two-story, and multi-family residences. Most of the rest of Valley Creek is undeveloped woodland.

Schools serving the Valley Creek area include Hollis Academy Elementary School, Carolina High School, and the Welcome Elementary School. Also nearby is the Fuller Normal Advanced Technology Charter School.

Rated 5 stars by their customers, Jimmy and Pete’s Clock Restaurant is a diner that specializes in sandwiches and multiple types of burgers and gyros. They have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu and, for customer convenience, a drive through.

The Greenville area is scenic and is surrounded by mountainous terrain offering many opportunities for camping, hiking, biking, swimming, and fishing. One of these, Caesar’s Head State Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains, also features a spectacular waterfall. Weddings are often held in this area in the Pretty Place Chapel.

Cultural opportunities are also numerous in Greenville. The Peace Center for the Performing Arts is the host of concerts, Broadway musicals, plays, and the Greenville Symphony. Greenville also has two museums, ten golf courses, and four highly-rated family fun places including the Greenville Zoo.
