Shandon, in Columbia, South Carolina, is a neighborhood just south of downtown. The boundaries of Shandon are Rosewood Drive to the south, Harden Street to the west, Devine Street to the north, and South Kilbourne Road to the east.

Shandon is a popular neighborhood with distinctive southern architecture and homes built from the late 1800s through to 1940. The homes are valued above the median, and the neighborhood is popular with professionals who like the short commute to downtown. Shandon is also close to the University of South Carolina, and some rentals for both students and faculty are available, with rents higher than the average for the city.

Shandon has mature trees, fascinating architecture, and wide streets. The area has a relaxed feel and is a very walkable community, with coffee shops and restaurants at street level along some of the larger streets.

Shandon is a historic part of a city that treasures its history. The Confederate Relic Room and Museum at 310 Gervais Street is within walking distance of Shandon and has been operating since 1895, showcasing confederate history. The Fort Jackson Museum, at 4442 Jackson Boulevard, showcases more than 200 years of history at Fort Jackson, the largest training center for the US army, with more than 50 percent of all soldiers passing through the gates.

Columbia is home to the Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina, where they play football in the SEC. Williams-Bryce Stadium can be quite a loud place on game day Saturday. Tickets are hard to come by, but the viewing parties are everywhere as the whole town gets behind the team.
