St. Andrews Neighborhood

The St. Andrews neighborhood of Columbia, South Carolina is ideal for nature enthusiasts as it is near the Harbison State Forest. This forest, located along the Broad River, covers 2,137 acres of forest, just nine miles from Downtown Columbia. The forest features 18 miles of hiking and biking trails. The park is also popular for kayaking and canoeing.

For those who enjoy aspects of city life, it’s a reasonable 12 miles to downtown Columbia and the historic Congaree Vista district, which is home to plush hotels, trendy restaurants, and popular stores. It is about the same distance to the main campus of the University of South Carolina. This community is about a 20 minute drive to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

Major attractions in the St. Andrews area include Saluda Shoals Park, which is a 300-acre park that runs along the Saluda River. This park features walking and hiking trails, lakes for fishing, and a beautiful picnic area. There is also a popular observation deck. Another attraction is Frankie’s Fun Park, which offers rides and other forms of amusement for families to enjoy.

The Columbiana Centre Mall is located on Columbiana Circle. The view is picturesque, tantalizing with well-placed trees and low-lying retaining walls and safety rails. This shopping complex offers Starbucks, the Food Court, a children’s play area, Build-A-Bear Workshop, an antique carousel, and mega-department stores and specialty shops. Represented are Sears, J.C. Penney’s, Dillard’s, and Belk’s, among other retailers.
