Far North Columbia is a Columbia, South Carolina, neighborhood. The Broad River forms the western border of this neighborhood, with the southern border following Interstate 20 east to Wilson Boulevard. The northernmost point in Far North Columbia is just beyond Muller Road.
One attraction in this neighborhood is Columbia International University. Its 400-acre campus offers a Christian education through all levels. Along with the university, the Ben Lippen School also resides on this campus. Here, students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade receive a college preparatory education. This includes nearly 100 international students attending high school while living on campus.
Another attraction in Far North Columbia is the 160 acres of Oak Hills Golf Club. In addition to its golf course, this private club offers members a practice course, a pro shop, and a bar and grill. Instruction by PGA professionals is also available. Linrick Golf Course is another place to play golf in this neighborhood. Located on Campground Road, this championship municipal course is par 73 with 18 holes. Not far from this course is the Upper Richland Community Center, operated by the same entity, the Richland County Recreation Commission.
Numerous bodies of water populate Far North Columbia, along with thick stretches of woods throughout. Residential areas are generally in pockets, making none seem overly crowded. A number of locally-owned or industrial businesses are scattered about, with no particular area serving specifically as a business district.
Downtown Columbia is about a 12-mile drive from the center of Far North Columbia.
