Near the College of Charleston are Marion Square, Cannon Park, and Colonial Lake, providing residents ample areas for outdoor recreation.

The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, Stoney Field, Harmon Field, Summerfield Field, and Hampton Park are located just north of Roper Hospital.

To the west of Wappoo Heights along Savannah Highway is St. Andrew’s Shopping Center. For additional major shopping venues, farther west along Savannah Highway is the Quadrangle Shopping Center, and all of these sites will accommodate the shopping needs of the area.

Schools in the surrounding vicinity of Wappoo Heights include Charleston Preschool, Oak Grove Montessori School, Blessed Sacrament School, Redeemer Children’s Center-Preschool, and Albemarle Elementary School.
