Turtle Creek, located 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, is named for the creek that runs through the bourough. It is an easy commute to downtown along Interstate 371, Route 48, or the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Pittsburgh is famous for its arts, culture, and museums. It is also famous for its universities. Duquesne University is a large, private university founded in 1878. The University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, Art Institute Pittsburgh, Point Park College, and Robert Morris University are all within the Pittsburgh metro area.
Shopping in Turtle Creek includes the Monroeville Mall and the Waterfront. The Waterfront is a large, open-air shopping plaza with over 70 shops and restaurants.
In the summer, cool off at Sandcastle Waterpark, located in Pittsburgh. If you love roller coasters, Kennywood is a great little theme park in nearby West Mifflin. In addition to roller coasters, this park has attractions, rides, and plenty of souvenir shopping.
