Westwood Neighborhood

Westwood is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is in the area known as the west end. The zip codes for Westwood are 15205 and 15220. The boundaries of the neighborhood are McCartney Street and Noblestown Road to the north, Greentree Road to the east, McKenna Avenue and Poplar Street to the south, and Hall Avenue and Barr Avenue to the west. This neighborhood is a quiet, hilltop location near enough to be part of the city and far enough away to feel like a suburb. The higher location offers great views of the Pittsburgh skyline.

Westwood is primarily a residential neighborhood of single-family detached homes mixed with some apartments. Brett Manor offers studio and one-bedroom units in a convenient location near the airport and with easy access to downtown. There are sidewalks on some of the streets and it is an established neighborhood with mature trees and a wide variety of architectural styles. Public transportation is available on some streets.

Westwood Park is the home of Westwood Field where the local softball teams play. There is also an outdoor community pool adjacent to the field. Westwood Elementary School is next to the park. It is a K-8th neighborhood school. Dunbar Playground is right outside the Westwood neighborhood. It has a playground, baseball field, basketball court, and a softball diamond.

When residents of the Westwood neighborhood want to go grocery shopping, there is a Stop N Save on Noblestown Road close to Westwood Elementary School. It is right in the middle of the neighborhood. There are lots of commercial enterprises in this neighborhood including a Pizza Hut and a Best Western Hotel in addition to lots of local businesses and restaurants.
