Beechville Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Beechville neighborhood is a residential area of Pittsburgh situated south of the Monongahela River and the city. The community is a mix of homes, apartments, local businesses, and green spaces that include parks and playgrounds. Residents walk or bike to Able Long and Alton playgrounds and Pauline Parklet.
With the Red Line Light rail stop in the community and the Pittsburgh Transit bus lines available, residents have short commutes into neighboring communities such as South Side and the downtown area for employment, recreation, and entertainment.
Beechville residents do not have to travel far to find some of the region’s best entertainment. Nearby, in the South Side neighborhood, is the Great American Main Street – East Carson – which is 15 blocks of historic Victorian buildings packed with restaurants, shops, theaters, art galleries, shops, and live-music venues. South Side is also home to a five-mile riverfront trail where visitors can hike, bike, or roller blade.
The historic Duquesne Incline Railway is just a short bus ride from the Beechville neighborhood. The upper station houses a museum chronicling Pittsburgh’s history. The Incline runs every morning, 365 days a year. The tickets for this popular ride are only $4.50 for a round trip ticket, and children, senior citizens, and students are all free.
Beechville residents also have access to Schenley Park in nearby Oakland, which is the home of Carnegie Museum and Library, Phillips Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and Panther Hollow Lake. In addition, it has an ice skating rink and a swimming pool. Activities are planned throughout the year, including ice skating events and concerts on Flagstaff Hill in the summer.
