It is bordered to the north by North Broadway, to the south by Southwest Washington Street, to the east by the Southwest Naito Parkway and the Willamette River and to the west by Northwest Broadway.

Old Town-Chinatown is close to the Lan Su Chinese Garden, also known as the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. The garden is 40,000 square feet and occupies a city block. Three types of wood and over 500 tons of rock from China are part of the landscaping.

The neighborhood is also near the Portland Japanese Garden. The 5.5-acre garden is composed of five gardens based on the Shinto, Buddhist, and Taoist philosophies. The well-designed garden includes pagodas, stone lanterns, and bridges as part of its landscaping. The garden is considered one of the most authentic Japanese-style gardens outside of Japan.
