Park Place Neighborhood

The Park Place neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, displays an eclectic mix of stately 1920s homes, small cottages, and large, multi-family dwellings. This is one of the city’s older neighborhoods. It is bordered on the north by East 17th Place and the south by East 21st Street. The eastern border is South Utica Avenue, and South Peoria Avenue is the western border.

This neighborhood has a lot to offer its residents. Most of the homes and apartments on East 21st Street face the 34-acre Woodward Park, which has picnic areas, park benches, and swings. There are walking trails that wind through a variety of trees and flowers, and it is a favored park for Easter egg hunts. It is also the home of the Linnaeus Teaching Gardens, a major horticultural center in Tulsa.

South Utica Avenue is the business section of this neighborhood. It has a business park, older homes converted to commercial storefronts, and restaurants. Right off this route is Swan Drive, which provides access to Swan Lake. This charming water feature has two fountains and a four-acre walking track that circles the pond. It is home to a large group of waterfowl. The entire habitat and wildlife are overseen by the group NatureWorks.

There are many more shopping and dining opportunities in the blocks surrounding the community. It is a short drive on East 21st Street to the Arkansas River and all the activities that it has to offer. The Tulsa Transit System, with its many routes and stops throughout the neighborhood, add to residents’ convenience.
