There are several schools in the Cooper area. Foster Middle School and Cooper Elementary School have neighboring campuses near the southern border and share outdoor sports facilities. East Central High School sits a few blocks to the north and is one of the Tulsa Public Schools’ senior high schools.

Cooper has several stops within the Tulsa Transit system, including nearby hotels and East Central High School. It is also easily accessible by automobile due to its proximity to major highways. The eastern part of this Oklahoma neighborhood contains the Harvey Young Airport, the smaller of three airports in Tulsa. Home to private and corporate aircraft, this privately owned airport is ideal for travelers going on business trips.

Cooper’s northern boundary runs along East 11th Street, with East 21st Street acting as its parallel southern border. To the west, South Garnett Road separates Cooper from the Wagon Wheel area. On the other side of the Harvey Young Airport, South 145th East Avenue completes the neighborhood’s border.

Shoppers can find plenty of stores along the southern boundary of Cooper. Heading east to west, shoppers will find Eastland Plaza, Plaza Family Shopping Center, and Cherokee Shopping Center, where they can frequent Toys R Us, Sally Beauty Supply, Hancock Fabrics, and several restaurants. Notables in the southwestern corner of Cooper are Cici’s Pizza, Ron’s Hamburgers, Long John Silver’s, and McDonald’s. The nearby Kroger is also a source for groceries and toiletries.
