Parkview is a pleasant neighborhood approximately eight miles southeast of Oklahoma City, near Tinker Air Force Base. It holds areas of single-family homes, apartments and condominiums, as well as a senior community. The area is mostly flat, but the meandering branch channels of small local creeks add variety to the terrain.

Parkview is bordered by South Sooner Road on the east side, with Tinker AFB not far beyond it. Southeast 59th Street is the boundary on the south. South Sunnyland Road is the western boundary, and Southeast 44th Street the northern. The zip code is 73135.

Parkview Elementary School, together with Mackleman Park beside it, is a focus of the community. Parkview also offers pre-K and full-day kindergarten. Students continue to Del Crest or Kerr Middle school, and Del City High School or its South Bryant campus, which offers computer science and many vocational programs.

The Parkview neighborhood is close to both I-35 and I-40, which facilitates commuting within the Oklahoma City area. City buses run downtown from the intersection of 59th Street and Sunnylane Road at the edge of the neighborhood, and from nearby Del City.

For recreational cycling, a bike/walk path stretches north from the neighborhood along Sooner Road, passing the memorial to the victims of the 1999 tornado. Another nearby recreational attraction is Thunderbird Lake State Park, a large reservoir with boating and camping along its wooded shores. The park’s swimming beach is also very popular in summer.

Parkview is well situated, near Tinker AFB and also within reach of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. It has pleasant housing of many types in the wide-open spaces southeast of the big city.
