Linwood Place is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. In 1909 it was being sold to residents of the city as a place to build country estates. Within a year building started and the homes were spacious, two story and on large lots. For twenty years this style of building continued. The Depression brought changes and the lots that remained were subdivided into smaller lots to allow for smaller homes. Today the remains of both of these time period fill this charming neighborhood. The wide variation in real estate prices reflect the two periods with homes beginning at $50,000 and going to the mid $300,000. There is a strong neighborhood feel in Linwood Place and the streets are tree lined and friendly to anyone who enjoys walking.

Wayman Park is a small neighborhood park between Northwest 18th Street and Northwest 19th Street that offers a playground and some open green space. Linwood Elementary School is located within the Linwood Place neighborhood and the Taft Middle School is just outside the neighborhood to the northeast.
