Apple Valley is a neighborhood that has put the forested hills of eastern Oklahoma City to great advantage to create a quiet, scenic atmosphere for residents. Located at Hefner Road and Air Depot Boulevard, Apple Valley consists mainly of single-family homes with large lots arranged along meandering streets. Within two miles, there are entry points to I-35, I-44, and the Kilpatrick Turnpike, which provide fast commutes to the business districts in the city. The suburb of Edmond is also nearby, with plenty of opportunities for shopping and dining.

There are also plenty of opportunities for leisure around Apple Valley. Across the street, the River Oaks Golf Club is growing, and currently boasts about 400 members. Amenities, including a full golf course, restaurant, and banquet rooms make this club a great choice. For a little more adventure, Frontier City is an amusement park with over 50 attractions, including roller coasters, raft trips and plenty of fun rides for kids. The park is just two miles from Apple Valley. Season pass-holders also get access to Whitewater Bay, a water park on the other side of town.

Apple Valley residents can also explore one of Oklahoma’s favorite stretches of Historic Route 66. The old highway runs just a few miles north of Apple Valley, where it passes attractions like the Round Barn, and a unique diner called Pops, which has hundreds of varieties of soda. Lake Arcadia is also in this area. The lake is about three square miles and offers opportunities for boating, swimming, camping, hiking, fishing or just relaxing on the beach.

The neighborhood of Apple Valley is off the beaten path, but it is the perfect rural escape offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature, while still providing easy access to the urban amenities of Oklahoma City and Edmond.
