Woodland Holt is a neighborhood in northeast Columbus, within Franklin County. The community is just a few miles northeast of where Interstate 71 intersects with Interstate 670 and roughly two miles west of the Port Columbus International Airport. The heart of downtown Columbus is just over five miles to the southwest. Significant area roadways include Woodland Avenue, Mock Road, and Sunbury Road. Alum Creek runs past the neighborhood within a mile to the east. Area communities include South Linden and North Central. Woodland Holt is in the 43219 ZIP code.

Several small parks can be found within proximity to community. Among them is Maloney Park. Situated to the southwest of the neighborhood, this park offers a playground; four tennis courts; two basketball courts; ample parking; and a wide expanse of open green space for sports, games and picnicking. Trails also meander throughout the park, making it perfect for walkers, bikers, joggers, and dog walkers. Other parks in the area include Alum Creek Arlington Park, Joan Park, and Amvet Village Park.

Woodland Holt is also convenient to several area colleges and universities. The Ohio Dominican University is closest to home, approximately one mile to the southeast, along I-670. A few miles to the west, on the other side of I-71, is one of the largest universities in the entire country, The Ohio State University. Founded in 1870, this public university was ranked among the top 20 national universities of its kind in 2010 by U.S. News & World Report. It has 14 separate colleges and serves nearly 50,000 students. Several additional colleges and universities are situated closer to the downtown area.

Proximity to the downtown area and several major area roadways means that there is no shortage of things to see and do near Woodland Holt, including a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Attractions in the downtown area include the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Supreme Court of Ohio, and the Ohio Theatre.
