South High Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
There’s no doubt that the neighborhood of South High in Fargo is well represented by its academic institutions. Within its borders, nearly a third of the land used in this residential community has been set aside for the massive Fargo South High School, Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, Lewis and Clark Elementary School, and other institutions.
Comprised of two campuses, Fargo South High School is the largest attraction in this community. It has a state-of-the art football stadium, as well as several academic buildings. It is also the location of the Southwest Swimming Pool, the community’s public swimming pool.
Fargo South might be impressive, but it’s not the only attraction in the South High neighborhood. Across 17th Avenue, where the high school is located, there is a cross-shaped building surrounded by large expanses of green lawns. The building is the home of American Gold Gymnastics, a non-profit organization that hosts, teaches, and promotes gymnastics on a local and national level. It serves as the home to the Fargo North, Fargo South, and Moorhead high school gymnastics team programs. It’s also the main training facility for the two gymnastic programs of FM Acro Team and the AGC Competitive Team. The facility also offers recreational programs for the public.
The South High community is very accessible. Its western border is 25th Street. The neighborhood intersects to the north with 13th Avenue, a commercial region that includes a shopping mall. Its southern border is Interstate 94/U.S.-52.
To the east is the aptly named street of University Drive/Highway U.S.-81. On it is the community’s main hospital, Meritcare South University Hospital. Interestingly, this street isn’t the home of a university. Instead, it’s a major commercial zone.
