Prairiewood Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Prairiewood in Fargo, North Dakota can be summed up by one major attraction: the city’s municipal golf course. The nine-hole Prairiewood Municipal Golf Course was established in 1976. Since then, it has become the main golf course in the region.
The golf course’s contours, ponds, and green lanes take up nearly half of the land used in this community. The residential street of Prairiewood Drive circles it, connecting a series of cul-de-sacs and two-lane roads.
The area is enclosed by several major roads and freeways. To the south is U.S.-52 (also known as Interstate 94). This freeway connects to the western border of Interstate 29. Here, it forms a clover-shaped interchange. Going eastbound on U.S-52 one reaches 25th Street.
The northern boundary is not as well defined as the others. 17TH Avenue cordons off Prairiewood Drive, the golf course, and the residential streets surrounding it. However, residential and commercial sectors can be found north of 17th Avenue to 13th Avenue.
Much of this neighborhood’s commercial sectors can be found off of Interstate 29 and 13th Avenue. Here, in this corner, are numerous eateries, hotels, and lodges.
Across the freeway are other attractions: West Acres Shopping Center and Rasmussen College. The college offers Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees in the field of computer technologies and medical administration and transcription. Also not far from this community is Red River Zoo. This can be found off of U.S.-52/Interstate 94. This major zoo offers exhibits and a petting zoo for youngsters.
Prairiewood Golf Course is not the only attraction within Prairiewood. There are two recreational parks. One is off of Prairiewood Drive and the other is just north of 17th Avenue. Still, it’s the golf course that makes this neighborhood. It is open to the public and is run by Fargo Park District.
