The neighborhood of Amber Valley is located to the southwest of downtown Fargo, North Dakota. Amber Valley consists of a series of apartment complexes and condos. Bordering Amber Valley to the east is Anderson Park which contains eight baseball/softball diamonds. Also on the east border is the Southwest Youth Ice Arena. Interstate 94 borders to the north and Interstate 29 is nearby to the east.

Public schools serving this area belong to the Fargo School District 1, and the Catholic schools belong to the Fargo Catholic Schools Network.

There are several popular restaurants nearby to Amber Valley, and some of them have won local and even national awards. What makes “Famous Dave’s” famous is its barbecue. It has won several “Critic’s Choice,” “Best Ribs,” “Best Bar-B-Que,” and “People’s Choice” awards.

The Fargo-Moorhead area has a variety of things to do and exciting places to see. Within minutes of Fargo are numerous camping, hiking, fishing, and sight-seeing opportunities. In and around the metro area are unique places to shop, golf courses, sports events, and world-class entertainment.

Fargo is very close to the Minnesota border, and this border area contains some great places to experience the native landscape of this region. One of these, the Buffalo River State Park is only 14 miles from Fargo and has trails that wind their way through the largest native prairie in the region. There are hiking, camping, swimming, picnicking, and fishing opportunities.

One of the more unique shopping areas in Fargo-Moorhead is the 8,000 square-foot Moorhead Antique Mall. Located in a country-like setting, the mall features more than 70 antique and collectibles dealers.
