Echo Farms Neighborhood

Echo Farms, located in southeastern Wilmington, North Carolina, offers Southern charm at its best. The neighborhood brings both new and old together, combining newer amenities with traditional architecture. Newer condos and townhouses with porches and front walks line its green, lush streets, and mix seamlessly with homes that have existed for generations. Tall oaks line almost every street, even among new building lots. Creeks and ponds surround many of the homes.

Located close to Carolina Beach Road (Route 421), Echo Farms offers an easy commute to all areas of the city, including historic downtown Wilmington. While it is not located directly on the water, Cape Fear River is a short distance west, and Carolina and Kure Beaches are only a short drive away. There are shopping and dining venues right outside the neighborhood. The University of North Carolina is a short commute away.

Echo Farms is known as a family-friendly community. Sidewalks line the streets, making the community perfect for biking, walking, and skateboarding. The flat terrain makes the neighborhood a good choice for easy strolls. Children in the neighborhood attend Williams Elementary, Myrtle Grove Middle School, and New Hanover High School.

Many residents are members of the semi-private Echo Farms Golf and Country Club. It features an 18-hole golf course, five tennis courts, and an Olympic-size swimming pool. Tennis lessons are available for residents of all ages, and high school students can join the competitive swim team. The club, which sits on what was once a dairy farm, recently renovated an old bottling barn into a bar and grill.

With its Southern charm and close proximity to downtown, beaches, and the University of North Carolina, it’s easy to see why Echo Farms is a choice neighborhood of Wilmington residents.
