Homes of the neighborhood surround Midlavian Drive on the northwest side of Falls of Neuse Road. With limited access to the community, Villas at Falls Lake is a tranquil area with little through-traffic. Nearby neighborhoods include The Falls to the northeast and Falls Pointe to the south.
The main recreational attraction to the area is Falls Lake State Recreation Area. With over 25,000 acres of natural North Carolina landscape and the 12,000-acre lake, this recreation area is a popular destination for local residents. Wakefield Crossing and Wakefield Commons both offer grocery stores and restaurants. Situated between these two shopping outlets is Living Arts College @ School of Communication Arts.
Public schools near the Villas at Falls Lake community include Wakefield Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. All are situated less than two miles to the northeast on Wakefield Pines Drive.
