The Wake County Speedway in Raleigh was built in 1962 and has been entertaining race fans ever since. The race program is from April to late August, with qualifying rounds beginning at 7 p.m. every Friday.
Family friendly outdoor activities are close by. Anderson Point Park has a playground, open fields, and a picnic shelter. Fishing and canoeing are other outdoor opportunities at the park.
