The Hearthridge neighborhood is situated roughly 20 minutes north of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. This community consists of just 19 home sites on .017 square miles of land north of Lynn Road. The neighborhood is made up of a single street – Hearthridge Court – and is home to more than 40 residents. The zip code for this Wake County community is 27609.

One of the area’s prominent attractions – Shelley Lake Park – is situated less than a mile south of the neighborhood along West Millbrook Road. This popular area park offers a 53-acre lake, which is surrounded by three scenic miles of paved trails, frequented by walkers, joggers, cyclists, and dog walkers. The park and lake are dog friendly. The lake offers boating, fishing, and duck feeding. The park features a playground and an arts center that offers classes for artists of varying abilities.

Other options for outdoor recreation within a few miles of Hearthridge include Durant Nature Park to the northeast and William B. Umstead State Park to the southwest. The latter is adjacent to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, another major attraction of the Hearthridge area.

For those who can afford it, a very nice private golf club is situated roughly two miles east of Hearthridge, just south of I-540. The North Ridge Country Club offers not one, but two 18-hole golf courses. These courses are some of the most challenging in the city, yet they remain playable for a variety of skill levels. Other amenities here are consistent with what you might expect from a prestigious private club; they include an Olympic-size swimming pool, large clubhouse with dining options, tennis courts, and fitness facilities.

The heart of downtown Raleigh is just nine miles to the south, easily accessible via nearby State Highway 50. Among the prominent features of the downtown area are the State Capitol and the North Carolina State University campus.
