The Pines, a neighborhood in Greensboro, North Carolina, is south of downtown and bounded by Glendale Drive on the south, Rehobeth Church Road on the west, West Vandalia Road on the north, and Bristol Cone Road on the east. The neighborhood was built in the 1970s and 80s and has been well kept over the years. The houses are built with long yards and boast mature cedar and dogwood trees. The streets are quiet, with little or no through traffic.

The Pines is a good location for young families. The homes are more affordable and are considered a good value for the dollar. It’s a safe place to walk the dog, play and learn to ride a bike.

The 28-acre Shannon Woods Park in next to The Pines and features a playground, basketball court, and open area for the neighbors to play. Shannon Hills Park is also nearby, boasting a baseball diamond, picnic area, tennis courts, and a paved walking path. Lake Townsend is a 1500 acre lake with a marina, boat dock, and some great fishing spots along the shore.

There is always something happening in Greensboro. The Weatherspoon Art Museum, on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is a unique space with traditional collections and non traditional exhibits. The Greensboro Grasshoppers play class-A baseball in front of record crowds at the NewBridge Bank Park in downtown Greensboro. Festival Park is the home of the Carolina Blues Festival, the oldest of its kind in the southeast. The park hosts many other festivals throughout the year.
